Hi - I am a newbie both to this forum and to diesel ownership. I will be bold enough to display my ignorance if you will go easy on me.
I recently purchased a 1995 C2500 Suburban that had the engine replaced ~10k miles ago. After reading the "The 6.5L Turbo Diesel Engine" I purchased from this site, one of the first modifications I would like to make is to upgrade the cooling system, using a 130 GPM water pump. Because the engine is only a year old, I thought it might be possible the water pump has already been "upgraded." My question - how can I tell the 87 GPM pump from the 130 GPM pump? Will the higher flow pump always come with the dual thermostats?
