I haven't been on this board for a while but I have a question for you guys. I want to install a tach in my truck but I'm not sure if it can be done. I bought this conversion piece for diesels from MSD. Youre supposed to run the tach of off one of the fuel injector wires. Well it looks like the 6.2 has mechanical injectors. Is there any way I can still use this setup? Thanks!

Ya made a duplicate post, not to worry though, the other was removed.

Tach?

There are a couple of offerings for the Diesel. I'm running an Isspro tach, Autometer also makes one for the diesel.

They list for the Dodge on Diesel Injection Service's page, but it's a generic sensor, you can call them and order it as well, just tell them it's for a 6.2.

As for mounting the gauge, you have a few (and I mean few) options.

-Mount it on the dash in a housing
-Mount it on a plate underneath the dash
-Mount it in a cup and mount it where ever (dash, A-pillar, etc.)
-Mount it to the head liner (my latest installation, see my photo album).
-Or, mount it in the ashtray (fits the size that it is).

Or mount them "in" the dash. See link. I mounted tach, pyrometer and trans temp guages this way and love it!

or you can go factory ... I put a cluster from a mid 80' dump truck (C65 series)

Lee Swanger's did a writeup on how to modify our electronic to regular tachometers somewhere within the site
