Ok on goes my saga . Had my ip rebuilt cuz the plastic pre EID ring grenaded . Reinstalled everything . New gear reduction starter , newer ac60gs, fuel ,new battery ,and a clear hose on return to monitor air temporairly . It ran fine , put a few miles on it just running around in the shop yard . Then a couple days ago it just would start . I noticed air in the clear line , any quick ideas on where the air could be intruding ? This is on the 84 m1008 truck . Also anyone know where to get a new fuel hard line that goes from the lift pump to the filter ? Thanks -A

Why are you needing the hard fuel line from the lift pump?

Sources for leaks are numerous, but usually are the connections on hoses on the fuel filter housing, or to the liftpump on the frame rail. The CUCV trucks are pretty simple when it comes to fuel getting to the engine because there is only one tank and no fuel switch module to worry with.

Always replace the spring hose clips/clamps with wormgear hose clamps, the quick hose clips fail to hold when the hose is a little more stiff than it used to be when new, and will leak.

I would like to know were to get the hard line as well. When I changed out my lift pump the hard line fitting screweed into the lift pump wouldn't budge, so I had to cut mine and get a new fitting. I just spliced the two hard lines with some rubber fuel line and hose clamps. The rubber line to the lift pump is odd shaped as well, would like to one of those too. are you still running 24v or 12v???

NAPA and other parts stores sell hard brake and fuel line, small pipe benders, inverted flare nuts, unions etc., so you can make up your own hard line on the cheap. I used ordinary low pressure fuel line for my lift pump and made sure it was long to negotiate the bend on my M1028.
