hasn't anyone heard of this chip or isn't it any good:confused: I believe the chip is from performance-diesel, I tried to email them but don't get any responce
The number sound like a stock chip - I do know on the 94's the prom chip has to be changed if you switch the orginal injector pump out.
Does the chip say who made it?

NO it dosn't say anything, just the numbers. When I do some searching I came up with performance-diesel they had a chip on his page with the same numbers and claimed the chip and 80hp and 150tq (holy !!!!) The reason I was checking in to it is my truck smokes like freight train and I put a monitor on it, it shows that it idles with 14psi of boost and when you get on it, it'll go over 30psi. NOT GOOD

Careful, there. That 14 psi at idle is absolute pressure, not gage. That is basically atmospheric pressure, which is zero gage pressure. The 30 psi that you read is also absolute, which would be about 15 psi gage (or so).
Don't believe the 80 hp advertising. It isn't true.
This may be a case where someone offers a performance program for that particular code but your chip could well be stock.
80 HP gain is a pretty lofty claim...

I've got a gauge on the way, but I believe that the monitor reads boost preasure. When I had a 96 dually the monitor read the same as the gauge.

Has anyone delt with this performance-diesel???
If the chip is stock what other things should I look for that would cause that kind of boost and lots of smoke??
THANKS
Hard telling, but Performance Diesel once was an alias of Heath Diesel if memory serves.

Got the gauge put in, and you guys were right it got 0 at idle and 6 gettting on it. So I guess the chip must be stock, what are some of the cheap and eazy mods. Thanks again

cheapest use search feature & read this forum inside & out; then next would be exhaust, airbox, downpipe, boost fooling
read this forum some more a lot of been there done that here
how much performance you wind up with depends on depth of wallet and wrenching ability
