Just got back from the Duramax forum where they are talking about replacing fuel injectors. Seems its about $4500 to have the dealer do them out of warranty, and a set of 8 is around $2000(do it yourself)
At $35 per injector on the 6.5, I believe I am beginning to love the 6.5!!!Having a DMax thats out of warranty sounds like owning a Lamborghini...get ready to pay BIG. I'm not sure that its worth it for an extra 100HP and 110 lb/ft of torque. The 6.5 is starting to look like a keeper!!!!

And I thought the cost of my High Flow injectors were bad enough.
With the Dura the injectors are becoming an issue already.

I think that's true of all the newer diesels. Before i bought my Chevy i almost got a powerstroke. Rebuilding the fuel system on a '96 p-stroke costs about $4000, i was advised. New tech for hi press elect controlled system. The sin on the DMax is GM dared stick with a single fuel filter--with that kind of money at stake ya gotta have redundant filtration.

No, I don't want to own one that someone else operated when it gets across 100k. Yes, the 6.5 is still a pretty decent value.

the most expensive and problematic part of the 6.5's fuel system would be the pump, and at an average price of $1000.00 and most people could do it themselves.......yea its a keeper :D
Well, I am still scared to put up 45K for a truck. Thats 1/3 the value of my house !!!!
