Oil Plug

2001 3500 Trying to install Kennedy lift pump. The plug on the oil filter housing will not brake lose. Looks like steel plug in aluminum housing. Have tried inpact gun will not buge. scared to get to agreseve any ides?

Which plug are you removing? I used the one on the bottom for my Bypass Feed (http://community.webshots.com/photo/65003591/1065005642033933568hlJEYv) and it came out hard! :eek: I also tried to remove the plug on the side that

I was trying for the one on top. Was not shure if I could use the one next to the pan. I was thinking if I warmed the motor the steel would expand more then the aluminum would. I will give that A try. ore the lower one like you did. Thanks for the help. Just gun shiy of the new tec stuff. just thinking how cheap and light weight things are now.

Your wise to be careful! Those plugs are on the engine oil cooler assembly which I'm sure would be expensive to replace.. Also, after posting the reply above, I remembered I used some "Kroil" (http://www.kanolabs.com/) penetrating oil on the plug (great stuff!) PB blaster might also work ... good luck!

I was able to get the lower one to bust lose . The one that you used in your pic. The uper one just would not give. Tryed the penitrating oil. The upper plugs allen socket started to round out so I stoped.
The only draw back I see to the lower tap is the wires are coming up a little tight. Limiting the plase mint of the control box.
