View Full Version : New tires
OK so you have convinced me.
I'm going to order a new 07 3500HD and am wondering about tires . I really am a big fan on Michelins. When I ordered my 2500HD in 03 I drove straight to my tire dealer and switched to 265/75 MS which I am very happy with.
Now should I do the same thing again and how about going up one size? Is that even necessary in the dually case compared to the 2500?
Thanks

When will the GMC dealers have the specifications available so you can put in an order for the 2007 HD models?
Sorry I cannot answer that at this time as theyre not sure.

I know for sure you can run Michelin ltx All seasons 245-75-16e on a 3500 duelie ... They just touch barely on big holes or running really heavy. Ya I know the tires can build up heat if they rub , they now have about 15K on them and you can still read all the lettering on the inside of both rears so it cant be touching by much.

Might consider 235/85/16's on the rear duals and 265/75/16's on the front. Makes a nice combo and the 235's are a tad narrower than the 245's, less chance of rubbing, if you keep'em aired up. By the way, 235's and 265's are the same height so no ABS issues.

Well if my dealer is being told correctly I won't be able to get a 3500 untill this time next year. Doesn't sound right to me but we'll see.

After hearing about the new emission requirements coming out in 1/1/07 for diesel's I have changed my mind and am in the process of ordering a 06 2wd.
The price rise and the possibility of added maintenance scared me off.
