I do beleive that the pre-cups are differnet in the "J" code heads ... I am sure someone will confirm or dispute this.

Can't say much about the pre-cups,don't know for certain...But i thought the pre-cup size changed with the introduction of the 6.5 heads.
The "c" and "j" models are nearly identical, except for the afforementioned intake. The crankcase breather changes it's position,i think, and the IP is uprated slightly.Hose routings are a little different too.
Injectors, exaust manifolds, valve angles, position of sensors (oil and water) are the same,i believe.
If your wondering, yes the "j" intake will bolt right up to an egr equiped engine.
So will the IP,all the fuel lines, the injectors, the heads, oil pan etc.In fact,i believe that everything on a "j" code, civilian or military, will bolt right up with a minimum of fuss. They appear to be the identical block, after all...
