Does anyone use biodiesel in their Diesel PU? Or how about " Diesel Secret Energy" additve for veggie oil? I'm seriously thinking of producing my own fuel..............gofaspilot

I have been running about 20% bio on average. I get it 3 miles down the road for $3.25. I have run up to about 80% last summer (when bio was cheaper then #2 for a while). I have had no problems and have not noticed any real changes in performance negative or positive.

I'm very close to getting my biodiesel processor up and running. There are many who are running the stuff in their GM's. Here's some links to learn more:

I run 100% homebrew. Its soooo nice passing the diesel stations. Kinda wierd how its been so long since I have used good ole dino....I kinda miss it, but $80 per week was crazy.

I run a semi unique bio making process. I took extra steps and measures to make it user friendly and as automated as possible. Time is money for me and I dont want to be spending time makin diesel. I am using the "appleseed" type processor with a few of my own improvements.

We have a family coop because most of my family drives diesels. I make approx. 300 gal. per month ( could do more, but currently limited by WVO supply). And everyone contributes in one way or another. My wife can go out and do a titration, open a few valves, and set a timer and walk away.....20 min. tops. Then, 24 hours later, open a valve, drain the crap, and transfer the bio in a wash tank and set another timer and walk away. Plus, while one batch is washing, another batch is processing. Soon as I get time, I will take pictures if anyone is interested.

BTW, I highly recommend buying the book "Biodesel Homebrew Guide" by Maria Alavert. http://www.localb100.com/book.html

But dont let it scare you...she gets real "overwhelming" but in reality, its a quite simple process.
My truck runs well on the stuff and we currently use Bio in D-max's, Cummins ISB and cat and case equipment.
Do not get into the "magic snake oil".....I just dont think its that easy..IMHO.
Good luck.

My dad and I have been running B80 to B100 since we started up our own biodiesel processor last September. We're running in it my three vehicles and Dad's Power Stroke. It's great. We used the 'appleseed' processor mentioned above.
