Wow, it was obviously all highway miles. My 02 has a lot more rock chips off the paint around the fenders. Good to know someone will keep it rolling.

Wow... I wonder how many of the miles were empty and how many were towing. Also would be interesting to know the hours on the motor.

Talk about holding resale valve.
That's alot of money fro a truck with half a million miles on it!
Who would pay nearly $13K for a truck with that many miles regardless of the brand. You can buy them all day long for the low to mid $20,000.00 range with the engine warranty still in effect. Someone wanted a Duramax awfull bad to pay this much for a worn out truck.
Kind of like the Buy here/Pay here lots that sell mid 1980s cars for $5K because the patrons can not get financed anywhere else.

The rolling chassis without engine and transmission would be worth 8K. I don't think he 'stole' the truck, but if he gets on 30-40K additional miles its probably worth the price IMO.
10K and you have a brand new LB7 and Allison to install.

Well curiosity got the best of me and I called the guy. He said he changed engine oil every 10 to 12k, spin on allison filter every oil change, he changed the trans fluid every 50k and had it flushed every 100k. He used schaeffer synthetic blend oil that he bought by the barrel. He said he had injectors put in 5 times. He had a fuel filter on his aux. tank and he changed it regularly, he said he changed the fuel filter on the truck every 20k to 30k because it was an expensive filter. He had the rear main seal replaced once and the ball joints once and all new hoses under the hood.He said the engine did not use any oil and it ran the same oil pressure as it did new. He pulled empty horse trailers all over the USA and some in Canada and said that he had a trailer on the truck 70% of its miles. The allison was original and so was the engine. Quite a testimony for the duramax and the allison!!!

Gotta say I'm impressed and not really surprised. Sounds like the truck was used as intended by gm and properly maintained by the owner. Hope to keep mine as long. Also hope injectors keep getting cheaper. Still on my first set at 140,000mi.

Yeah I had to wonder how many times he would have put injectors in had he replaced his fuel filter every 10k like he should have or better yet if he would have had a mega filter system on his truck.

Even if the engine & tranny hold up, the suspension, bushings ect.. have to be tired. Also, if he towed with it as I assume he did from the hitch in it; the frame must have aloe of metal fatigue.
I agree that he could get many more miles from it but I still think the price was too high for a truck with that many miles on it.

I agree. Too high price with that many miles.
