I recently bought a '94 crewcab 4x4 srw with 4:10 gears, 245/75/16 tires and its a 5 speed. I'm running about 2650 rpm at 65mph empty. This seems to be excesive, am I right? Could it be the cluth slipping at high speed?, I'm not new to driving stick but this is my first fullsize manual and diesel.Any input appreciated.

If your tach doesn't read correctly, its probably the alternator's fault. The pulley size and alternator internal construction can make your tach read wrong. Do a search on alternator pulley . There's lots of stuff on the subject.

Search button is in tiny print near top of page.

There is an RPM calculator in the member's area.

Welcome aboard.

You can see the rpm/mph relationship for the different gear ratios on the Fuel Economy (http://www.thedieselpage.com/mileage.htm) page.
