New 6.5 HO Water Pump GM #?

Does anyone have the scoop on the GM part numbers for the 97 and later HO water pump? I used PN 12534772 3 years ago and now see 88894036 listed. I wouldn't question things in the past, but with the ongoing cost cutting and seeing a part number change I'd like to know what the different number means. Is it a rebuilt or new or different in some other way?

Part numbers have a way of changing from time to time. I suppose some changes might be due to a new supplier. I wouldn't worry too much about a new part number. I doubt the w/pump specs changed.... :)

The 888 part numbers are the asigned by Workhorse Custom Chassis they are now suppling GM the lions share of the parts for the 6.5 as they are still using that enigine in strip chassis, that is what I have been told by my GM parts rep form the factory, that is also the same story I get from my WCC rep the last time I asked same part just new numbers starting to see in more and more monthly as GM stock rus out.
