What do you think of these specs ... it's a long ass oil filter :)

Safety Valve Opening Pressure - 22 psi

Safety Valve Screen - Yes

Nominal Micron Rating - 18 micron

Recommended Maximum Flow - 10 (GPM)

Recommended Maximum Operating Pressure - 200 (PSI)

Is that a hydraulic oil or a transmission filter?

not sure ... it's a High performance PH373 which has the same specs as a HP4 which is the high performace replacement for the PH5 (what's listed as the stock replacement) for a 86' 6.2

I use the Purolater L40084 it's a two quart long filter I haven't had any problems with them I don't use fram filters just my two cents worth

Thanks for the infor ... I am not a big fan of Fram either, just looking of a bigger better filter. That's basically the same as the HP12

I ran the PH373 for years on my old 6.2 and the 6.5 before converting over to the baldwin model, I think it is B7. I never experienced any problems, but my trucks are 2 whl drives so it's easy to change.

Kennedy Diesel says that the Baldwin B7 does not have any anti-drain back valve in it.

That is an issue with you 4X4 guys, not to me. I see the HP 12 has that, maybe check and see if there is a crossover Baldwin #.

all the crossrefenced filters also crossover to a Baldwin B7
