To date, there is no warranty addressing of bioDiesel. GM lists B5 as an approved fuel for GM Diesel equipped vehicles. Higher than B5 could cause issues with warranties, only because it is not listed as an approved fuel.
The problem with BioDiesel is the unknowns. GM has no way of verifying the quality of fuels above B5, commercially obtained. There are just too many variables involving the fuels, including, oil base, process methods, storage, etc. B5 is commercially available through many reputable fuel suppliers (and endorsed by government regulators), and the quality standard is inherited. The B rating approval will increase over time, as it becomes more widely accepted, and commercially produced.
It's my opinion GM's take on alternative fuels is the amount of mixing them with traditional fuels is key. 5% of just about anything that can be called fuel will not have an adverse effect on a fuel system or engine, whether it be gasoline, kerosene, alcohol, turpentine, lizard spit, or whatever.
