Duramax in Surburban

Has anybody heard if "The General" is going to put a duramax in the Surburban? Haven't heard any thing lately.

GM has been keeping the rumors alive for 6 years now.... Still nothing concrete.... The last word I've heard (from an insider) is that they've been working on prototypes using smaller displacement Isuzu diesels - for a range of their light-duty SUV's (see the link in our General Diesel forum for more info). I haven't heard much about diesel development for their 2500 Suburban, which is what most people here would like to see.

For me, it seems like a no-brainer to offer a consumer diesel. Jeep and VW are selling all of the light-duty diesels they produce or export to the U.S. market. A fuel-efficient diesel would help GM avoid the catastrophe of higher oil prices, especially when most of their profit eggs are in the SUV/pickup basket.
