What is a OPS and what does it do and how much do they cost? My truck is shutting off while driving and after searching the topic it seems like that is the problem with mine.

OPS: Oil Pressure Switch. This switch is located at the rear of the engine valley, pointed at an angle up towards the center of the firewall. This switch closes when the oil pressure builds, and it in turn sends power to the fuel lift pump located on the inside of the frame rail under the driver's door. These switches commonly fail, resulting in no power to the lift pump, which starves the injection pump of fuel. This will also shorten the life of the FSD: Fuel Solenoid Driver, the little black box on the side of the injection pump.

You can buy a new OPS at any auto supply store and replace it every couple of years, or purchase an upgraded OPS and wire harness kit from www.kennedydiesel.com and fix the problem for life.

Take a look at one of the older posts for information on how to protect the OPS.
