Hi everyone. I would like to install an exhaust temp and a boost gauge on my '05 Duramax. Although it's the most functional, I really don't like the looks of the pillar mounts. Does anyone have any other cool ideas to mount a couple of gauges? Thanks.

I mounted mine in the overhead console. JK (kennedydiesel.com (http://www.kennedydiesel.com)) has a VERY nice billet aluminum bezel, just for that. I don't know about the 2005, but I recently installed one in a 2003. JK will know if it will fit, or not. I don't have a pic of it, but can get one if you need. Very sharp, and practical. I don't care for the pillar mounts, either.

Check out the Got Gauges! - Reloaded (http://www.thedieselpage.com/reviews/gauges2005.htm) feature article. The overhead console for round gauges is similar to the one shown for the Edge Attitude. Not the plastic pod.

I don't care for pillar mount gauges either, so I mounted my 2 1/16" gauge (pyro) in a Autometer black gauge cup. They are available from Jegs for around $13.00. I mounted it on the top of the dash over next to the door pillar, and used two faced tape to hold it in place. There is a small gap between the dash and pillar where you can get the wiring through. The base of the gauge cup also made a handy place to mount the toggle switch for my Edge EZ.

I've pillar mount. Don't like'em ~ no other choices back then ~ now, theres winshield mounts that fit in the space between o/h console and rear view mirror. Stocked by several site vendors ~ I chose one for my edge attitude monitor and love it. IIRC More Powers project truck uses the same type. Chk it out ~

oyazi,

Yep the overhead mounts that go between the rearview and the headliner are fast becomming our best sellers, in fact they usually match sales of theA pillar mounts now. They are available in 2,3 and 4 gauge designs and we also have the color matching paints to make them look like a stock item etc.
