View Full Version : Desired Injection Pump
Hello All:
My Autoenginuity scan tool reads as follows;
TDC Offset: -2.02 Degrees
Desired Injection Pump; 15 =/- 1.5 degrees when driving around.
Are these readings OK and if not, how should I change them?

Your truck being OBD II can go as high as -2.2 deg. of offset timing before the SES light comes on. This setting can be a little harsh though on the engine. Most members here go with a -1.94 deg. to -1.50 deg. setting.
If this is the actual setting and this is where you want to run at than you really should have a pyrometer installed in the exhaust system.
Probably wont hurt anyhing with that much advance, but it is more suitable for higher-rpm service, - drag racing, fer instance
Do the k-o\k-o TDCO procedure, check your parameters again - if still the same then do this :
Rotate the Inj Pump about 1mm towards the passenger-side, do the k-o\k-o procedure for TDCO, check your Des\Act and TDCO parameters again.
I prefer to see about 10-12deg Des\Act around town, -1.5deg TDCO, which results in much less combustion rattle.

Hello: Say what is this Autoenginuity scan tool? Where is it available from and for how much $ ? Is it compatible with DB2 injection or DB4 only. Thanks Gord
