2. Can I get 20 MPG with a K2500 3.73 ratio ( empty)
at 65 MPH

3. Will I get 200,000 trouble free miles ?

Hey RJ - looking at a new Duramax? I have been very happy since upgrading last fall to a new '05 and a used '01. Both trucks combined have delivered over 60K hard working miles with no mechanical problems at all, and start like champs in cold Minnesota weather.

1) No lift pump. Two pump system under the hood with a low and high pressure side. Aftermarket lift pumps available - mostly used to aid in moving fuel through additional filtration in cold temps.

Lots more information by searching this forum on 'lift pump'.

2) My 2005 LLY has delivered 20mpg empty, but not with yours truly in the driver's seat. My empty average has been closer to 17 due to my heavy right foot. If you are in search of high mileage for commuting, I'd buy a used LB7 as it seems like the LLY and LBZ trucks aren't doing as well on mileage in stock trim.

3) Can't speak directly to this, but my '01 LB7 has 110K with only warranty injectors and a fuel pressure regulator. It gets worked pretty hard hauling trailers and plowing snow and seems like a new truck in most respects. (Since I took 100% accelerated 1st year depreciation on my 2005 taxes, it BETTER deliver 200K...)

RJ:

My '06 LLY delivers 20.9 under those conditions when I let Otto drive. It's a K2500 extended cab.
