New injection pump; less rattle, less power?

Since my mechanic replaced my injection pump, I have noticed less power and much less diesel "rattle". He reset the timing, but I thought stock timing was OK. Could he have disturbed my TDC offset? Could running -1.5 TDC offset affect reliability?

Most definitely he could have disrupted the TDC offset. The TDC offset should always be relearned when replacing the IP. As far as the offset of -1.50 being unreliable that is not the case. It seems to favor heavy pulling but the offset of -1.94 favors a more performance type setup.
