K&N Air Filter

Hello all;
Recently pulled my K&N filter to service, I have the FIPK and have to loosen the air tube to get filter out. After reading of the oil trouble others have had I made sure to check tube well. I have no oil intrusion in tube matter of fact it still looks like new. This is with about two and a half years on filter and still showing no restriction on gauge. Any way I was wondering if those with problems were using the factory replacement filter maybe with power adders and it was creating to much vacum and pulling oil out of filter or if people are just over oiling.

TOWERJAKE I would say that you have less than 25000 miles on the filter in 2.5 years or that engine has ingested a lot of dirt!, if you have not cleaned the filter in 2.5 years. A stock filter is ready for replacement in 18000 to 25000 miles, the GM filter does catch the dirt! No dirt = longer engine life. bob.............

yea but...what about all that horsepower k&n claims to get with their filter?? i had a k&n salesman tell me to my face with out breaking into even a grin that their OIL FILTER will add horsepower too...

Hello all;
The tube was as clean as new, filter was filthy :rolleyes: do to my lack of attention to it. Wiped tube and intake with white rag and got nothing out sa aparently filter is stopping dirt :eek: .
