lbz with 1100 miles on her, left on 1150 mile jaunt, pulling 7310 lbs, dual axle dump trailor, wasn't expecting to be too impressed with mpg's yet, but tank 1 avg 11.8, tank 2 avg 12.1, and tank 3 avg 12.5, so it's coming around. i gotta say i was impressed by the fact that i couldn't find a grade steep enough to make her down shift, cept for one hill outside Ozark alabama. What did startle me was the downshift going down hill to maintain 70 mph. i guess saying i am satisfied as heck would be an understatement.
Can't wait to tie my 14,000 lb 5th wheel to our new 3500 LBZ/Allison. All this extra hp and torque must come at a price but I sure do like the extra grunt. Reminds me of my 2002 with the Attitude set on 4 - but a lot quieter. I'll try to post the milage results after our first trip.
I'm in the middle of my first extended trip with my ~13,500 lb 5th wheel. I have pulled it 2200 miles from Montana to S. Calif and have 5500 miles on the truck. I am getting about 9.3 mpg (DIC) over variable terrain, and about 9.8 mpg on flat interstates.
