Warning - Classifieds - Watch yourself!!

I was just recently approached by a potential buyer on some parts that I had listed in the classifieds on this site. The ad was pretty much dead for several months. I was asking $325 for the parts, and this guy then wanted me to cash a money order for $1525 and send back $1200 to him through his prearranged shipper.

IMHO this is a bigtime fraud... I have notified the IFCC and now I am notifying you. Seller be ware!!!

Thanks for the warning. This sounds like a variation of the scam described in More Power's post (http://forum.thedieselpage.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=14;t=000071) more than a year ago.

I had a similiar offer a while back. It for some radio equipment. I told the person to deposit the money in my Paypal account and after 90 days I would send them the change minus a 25% handling fee.

No money was ever deposited.
