Now that there are more diesel trucks in the 12's and some capable of high 11's the DHRA will have a new Street Diesel Pro-Street heads up class starting in '04. They will still have a Street Diesel ET Bracket class like they have now as well.

You are limited by weight (15# per cubic inch) not speed so if you want to go faster than 12.0 (current Street Diesel braket ET limit) you can. The Duramax (403" x 15# = 6045). The That will be the least you can weigh with the class minimum being 5500 lbs. A 5.9 cummins (360" x 15# = 5400) and 6.0PS (365" x 15# = 5475) could weigh no less than the class mininum of 5500#. The 7.3 (444" x 15# = 6660) would have to weigh at least 6660#.

That means I can drop 550# off my truck and still be legal for this class. Anyone know how much the cloth back seat weighs in a Crew Cab? How about the rear bumper and the stock receiver hitch? At 6050# my truck should run 12.3's-12.4's if the old saying 1/10 lower ET for each 100# removed holds up.

I've been waiting for heads up racing all along from the DHRA. I was dissapointed when they came out with ET bracket racing but it was a good place to start.

Find a basic straight cab, 4x4, D/A and I bet you will almost there.

6050 lbs running 12.2's in the 1/4.

Unbelievable.........
