Oil leaking from rear end vent

I have a 1996 Crew Cab Dually. After changing the rear axle seals, rear brake shoes and both rear brake cylinders, oil has started leaking out the vent atop the rubber hose coming from the rear end. I didn't add any rear end grease and it appears to be right on the money. Can you tell me what's going on?

This sounds similar to a problem I think Tanker encountered on his 6.5LTD. If he is slumming down here in "Ask Dr. Lee" perhaps he will favor us with his findings.

I think he lengthened the breather hose substantially - but I may be wrong.
