What kind of pulling power would I get if I upgraded 96, 6.5 rearend from 373 to 410? Only thing chaged so far is a K&N air filter. At present I am towing about 9000# but don't seem to have much power going over hills.

Does your burb have any other mods?
I have a 373 gear and like the tow I get with 8000#. But I have several mods.
The single best mod came from the Heath chip and turbo master. Really pulls good.

Just doing the math, changing gears from 3.73 to 4.10's will get you close to a 10% increase in torque to the rear wheels.

I have 4:11 and pull about 8000lbs+ and really like it. B-4 mods and even w/exhaust it was slowing down on hills and big ones I would get a runnig start and have to down shift. Now it pulls fine w/no downshifting and running 70+. Running empty it accelerates really strong ,but over 80 is really screaming. stk tires.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a burb, I have a 96, 3/4 ton pickup.
