Vacuum Pump Rebuilding?

Can the distributor style vacuum pump be rebuilt? I need a new one and just thought that I would ask.

Assuming the drive is not worn out, you can just replace the vacuum pump unit, the "pod".

The "pods", while not "cheap", are a lot less $$$ than the complete unit.

Replacements can be found on-line, or at diesel injection service shops.

Recently, I bought 4 of the belt-drive units on ebay for $20.00 each, and used the "pods" from 2 of them to repair 2 of my "distributor-type" units from 6.2's.

That was a cheap fix!
