Greetings! I will replacing my very tired IP in the very near future on my '83 NA 6.2 and have 2 questions.
(1) Will my engine power benefit by upgrading to the 4911 pump with 6.5 turbo injectors(??) without any other engine upgrades? Is this the right combination? I do have the Banks Stinger exhaust/intake, and the standard 6.2 injectors/IP. No immediate plans to turbo the beast.

(2) Can I have my existing non-4911 pump rebuilt to 4911 specs?

Sorry if I haven't absorb all previous discussions concerning the subject.

In quest for more power & burning rubber,
Mark Chapman

Your engine will benefit from the 4911 and 6.5LTD injectors, but you will probably need to turn the fuel down as it's designed for a turbocharged engine.

Tim Wagner @ www.accuratediesel.com (http://www.accuratediesel.com) can rebuild your pump to 4911 specs, but it won't have the 6.5LTD hydraulic head and the fuel will be almost fully turned up.

The 4911 delivers 76mm3/stroke and pumps for the 6.2L N/A run 49-56mm3/stroke. If you have improved the engine's breathing (intake and exhaust), then you may be able to fuel the pump in the mid 50mm3s or even the low 60mm3s.

Discuss your needs with Tim and get his recommendations for your N/A engine.

Would it be better to find a 4911 core and rebuild it? I seem to recall reading that the 4911 case was stouter?!? After reading all the posts about Accurate diesel, I had already decided to give him a call.

Thanks

Everything I've read on the 4911 states the standard flow calibration for the 4911 of 65 - 70mm/3, even Dr. Lee's "The Right Stuff" has the flow rated at 68mm/3 (+/- 1.5) of the pump he installed. I know they can be calibrated higher than that (real 4911 pump). Just wondering what is the standard flow rate or if there is more than one standard dependant on HP rating?

Thanks

Thanks </font>[/QUOTE]You're right, 70mm3 is the standard, 76mm3 is where mine is calibrated :D and boy does this make for a powerful 6.2L!
