I am seeking assistance guys, I am assembling a 6.5 and the pushrods that I was going to use are bent, I have went to my pushrod reserve bank and I need to know if it matters which end goes where? Is one side hardened, the paint strip is worn off and there is a dot on one end. Does that mean "this end up" or does it matter? I have new lifters and using the old rocker arms any help is greatly appreciated.

The Helm manual clearly demands that the pushrods be installed with the proper end 'up' [and'down'].
On mine the paint marks had long since disappeared. {The painted marks should be 'up'}. I found that if i looked at each end cap on the pushrods, one seemed homogenous in appearance; the other had a ringed presentation, made me think 'cats-eye'. I THINK that is the hard end, and I'm pretty sure it is supposed to face UP.
