Adjusting Fuel Metering Screw.

Hi Doc;

I want to adjust the fuel metering screw on my '86 N/A 'Swangerized' 6.2L J code. I want to turn down my fuel pump a notch. I am black smoking a little too much for my liking.

Hows much to turn it down, 1/16th, 1/8th of a turn? It is not heavy black smoke, just moderate opacity under medium to heavy throttle.

Depends on how many times you want to open the cover on the pump. If you're not bothered try a 1/16", otherwise go with an 1/8". If you have an EGT gauge, how're the temps doing?
