What follows is an email I received today from a member about what appears to be a new twist on a classified ad scam. This scam involves ads posted in our classified ad page and EBay. As I reported to this member, we would never be involved in anything other than what is stated on our classified ad page.

I recommended that he contact EBay, and report this activity.

Jim: We got an email today that is very confusing. We heard from Tom wanting to know our "buy now price". We gave him the same price we had given you for the ad. He said he received the information on ebay and now there is someone else asking him to send the money to him. We do not know what has happened, but we can only response by giving him our information and what is included. If he wants it, he can buy it, but how did that third person get involved?
Does your ad appear on ebay? Are you the middle man? Are we to deal directly with this man?
We await your response. Thanks,
