Electric Fans

Is anyone using electric fans on their diesels. Prior Forum discussions stated the electrics were not powerfull enought for the major cooling requirements for our diesels. Anyone having luck with a vendor or custom unit?

Craig, someone did a study on this, and the amount of air flow was not enough. Many of us are using a new fan clutch (from Kennedy) with the larger D-Max fan blade, on our 6.5's. This made a big difference in mine, along with better A/C cooling in stop & go traffic. The only electric fan I have is on my transmission cooler. smile.gif

I'm with Howie and Tom on this one. There is no substitute for safty. You may have been doing ok with your present hookup but when things get out of shape you want the advantage of being in control. Help yourself out and get some good towing equipment and set it up right and take the pressure off the nerves.
