I just got back into town and found a letter from Blackstone labs in my mail box. Here are the results:
</font> Aluminum: 7</font> Chromium: 9</font> Iron: 62</font> Copper: 5</font> Lead: 7</font> Tin: 3</font> Molybdenum: 81</font> Nickel: 1</font> Manganese: 1</font> Potassium: 3</font> Boron: 94</font> Silicon: 10</font> Sodium: 3</font> Calcium: 2474</font> Magnesium: 6</font> Phosphorus: 964</font> Zinc: 1093</font> Fuel %: 0.5</font> Antifreeze %: 0</font> Water %: 0</font> Insolubles %: 0.5</font>
There were about 3200+/- miles on the oil. Majority of the starts were cold and not assisted with the block heater. Oil is Texaco Ursa 15w/40. Used 0 oil between changes. Total miles on engine were around 5500 at time of oil change/sample. The oil tested with a viscosity of 78.8 @210F and a flashpoint of 460F. This oil was fresh after changing out turbo charger after a bearing failure in the previous turbo. Blackstone indicates that this oil has wear that shows closer to 4000 miles, but is probably from breakin. Just thought I would post this for general knowledge and if you have anything to ad please do so.

Have a look at the article we produced a few years ago regarding engine oil analysis (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/features/oilanal.htm). George Morrison and the good Dr Lee helped with the info. smile.gif
