I've carefully measured the fuel economy for the Duramax Project truck over the last two tanks of fuel. This truck is currently running with 3.42 differential gearing and 31.5" diameter tires, and the engine now has about 1400 total miles on it.
The first measured tank produced 22.3 mpg during local driving. There were some performance runs during that tank, which could have had some effect.
Yesterday, we took a trip on the Interstate, and ran at 75-80 mph (80 out & 75 back). That tank produced 23.5 mpg, and did not include any WFO runs. Temperature was about 80-90 degrees and the winds were calm. By the way, 2000 rpm = ~80 mph. It's a great freeway cruiser! On a level stretch of highway, EGT's at 80 were about 600-625 and boost pressures were about 3.0 - 3.5.

I've run a number of 0-60's and 1/4-miles - nothing serious yet because I've yet to install a beefier rear diff. The best 1/4-mile results so far is 13.9/109, while running in 2WD. A 4WD run could occur soon.
