scan tool / abs

what is the most reasonable scan tool that will provide data stream not just a code reader. Also
do you need a separate scan tool to read ABS codes?

What sort of ABS problems are you having?

had friends shop put new rotors and pads in and now the abs light is on all the time. It did not do this before the brakes were changed. He read the code for me and said is indicated wheel bearing noise? He said he would wait until you can actuall hear the noise before replacing. My concern is what if we change the hub/bearing and it turns out to be a sensor?

Just remove the sensor and try to clean it. I have had that problem and just cleaning it solved the problem. Seeing how it was just all apart, maybe it was installed wrong

Joey D is right about cleaning the pick up magnet. If any part of the wire lead is cut the sensor will have to be swapped out. I doubt you'll have any luck fixing a broken wire here.
