What readings should I be getting on the TDC offset and base timing figures for an OBD II equipped truck. My '95 reads -1.94 TDC Offset,8.5 Degrees Desired/Actual,but my brother's '98 is reading -.5 TDC Offset,12.1 Degrees Desired/Actual. We just got his new 18:1 engine running today and I tried to set the timing, but it is alot different than my '95, also.. Is it even possible to set with a Tech 1A? or do I need a Tech 2?

I think you need a Tech II for the OBDII trucks. That could be why you're getting strange sounding readings.

Hey Ron, You don't happen to own a Tech II do ya'! I'm gonna mess with it a little more tonight and see what happens, If I can't get it I'm gonna have to find one !!!
