MDrag - I've been reading as much as i can on everything you've done to your truck. Very nice by the way, I liked it so much i found one identical to it (except in black)and bought it!

I would like to install the 19.5" alcoas and michelins. the question i have is what it will do to the speedo or the transmission computer ect. ect. is it just a direct bolt on and go and everything adjusts itself or do i need a programmer of some sort?

Thank you for your time

Just Fuelin' Around,

Thanks for the compliments on the truck. The OEM 215/85 16" GY Wrangler ATS (http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyeartireselector/display_tire***p?prodline=Wrangler+AT%2FS&mrktarea=Light+Truck) are 30.6" in diameter vs 32.6" for the Michelin XDE M/S 225/70 19.5" (http://www.michelintruck.com/michelintruck/productguide/newprod/TireSpecs***p?tread=XDE+M%2FS), or roughly a 6% difference in circumference. The 245/70 19.5" are 33.8", for a 9.5% difference.

It is my understanding that the ABS computer can be dealer reprogrammed using a Tech2 for different tire sizes. The dealer cannot reprogram Dmax equipped trucks' speedometer or TCM for tire sizes other than what was available OEM - and for the '01 3500 there was only one choice.

The small difference with the 225/70 19.5" tires that I'm using has not caused any problems for me so far. If you want to correct the speedometer, aftermarket programmers like the Edge Attitude or Predator offer this feature.

I should add that the XDE M/S have a fair amount of road noise, so be prepared - or consider a less aggressive tread pattern such as the Michelin XRV, or one of the choices from General or Goodyear. RICKSON TRUCK (http://www.ricksontruck.com/) has a good listing of avialable 19.5" tires. Good luck

My dealer told me that in November he will be able to program me for 265's. He said the 05's are coming with 265's stock. Speedo/ABS and tranny all correct. That's fine with me.
