I am having a 8" lift kit installed on thursday and have a question on gearing. I am going to be running 37" tires and am wondering if I will need to re-gear it. I do have the hot juice and I don't know if that will make up for it or will I need to change and if so what gears do you all recommend?? Thanks for any and all replys!!!

My guess would be yes.
You're adding a 8" lift and 37s on a 2WD???

Yes my truck is 2WD. The guy at the shop put a 11" lift on his 2WD with 38" tires. He regeared his to 4.10's. I think that I will probably do the same.
I do not think that 4.10 will be enough. To get back to stock you would need a gear somewhere around 4.75 (yes I realize that there might not be an actual gear of this ratio).
It really depends on what you use your truck for, but since you do not have a transfer case that would give you a lower range I would go with either a 4.56 or 4.88.

To get 70 mph at 2000 rpm, you need a 4.4x. I would think the 4.56 would be a pretty good choice, but a 4.10 would be a whole lot better than the 3.73. You are braver than me to mess with it anyway. :D

Thank you for all the responses! I called my friend(he's the service manager) at the dealer and he is going to check on swapping for the 4.10's. I pick my truck up tomorrow!! I will know better after I drive it a little.
post some pics of the new lift and tires
Hey Riverholic,
What shop is doing the lift? I'm sure I will see your truck from time to time if you're on the 210 at all. Thanks.

LADMAX: Gary's Sport Trucks out in ontario did it. I am very pleased with the way it turned out. I have no rubbing issues with 37" tires on the 17" wheels. I am still getting used to being that high. Thanks to everyone for the replys. I'll let you all know when I find out more on the rear end gear swap. Thanks!!

Riverholic,
Very nice setup. There are a couple guys on here that had a CST lift and are real happy with it. Did you change the gearing on it or still stock 3.73's? I am hoping that soon my truck will look like your "Little truck" picture. All my cash went to the truck so I had no extra flow for the nice mods. I'm just waiting for the stock pizza cutters to wear out so I can get some BFG's. Laters
