I'm about to order my synthetics from av lube and nowhere in the owners manual or the duramax suppliment does it give the trans capacity? Anyone out the that can help? thanx jim

Here is some info I have collected over time from the guys that post on this page:

Fluid Capacity:
stock capacity 7.4 quarts (all you can drain)

Total capacity, dry system 12.7 quarts

Transmission capacities shown in my Allison owner's manual are:

Standard Refill is 10.6 qts
Shallow Refill is 7.4 qts

I am assuming that what they are calling "Standard" is the deep pan.

The transmission capacities from the Allison Manual do not include the fluid held in the torque convertor, in the lines and in the transmission cooler, about 8-9 quarts more.
