Got a decent Xmas bonus this year...and instead of spending on the sensible things (like a new kitchen) ...I decided to blow it on a Hot Tub and Nav System for my truck!!!

This is what I got:

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com:7777/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=IVA-D900&p_category=10&p_subcategory=50&p_main=10

and...

http://iweb.alpine-usa.com:7777/pls/admn/item_info?p_item_name=NVE-N852A&p_category=90&p_subcategory=&p_main=20

The install instructions are asking for a Vehicle Speed Sensor wire (supplies the cruise control?)...anyone know where I might tap into this wire?

Thanks in advance!
Keith M.

FormulaPro:
Did you find your VSS wire? Here's some info.

Vehicle Speed Signal (VSS) is a DK GRN/WHT wire, 0.35mm2(22ga), wire # 817.
This wire can be found at any of the following:
1). ECM C2(Red), pin 50
2). Instrument Panel Cluster connector pin A3
3). Radio connector C2(GRY), pin 16
4). Body Control Module connector C2(LT BLU), pin B1
5). Relay Block-Body, connector C2, pins D5, E5, and F5.

Reference Helms 2002 pages 8-647, 8-518, 6-2823, 7-684.

Modified and Zip,

Thanks for the replys ...I was able to get the VSS wire at pos 16 on the gray radio connector!

BTW...I changed my mind and went with the high end Pioneer DVD system with Nav. The Alpine system you had to rig up to two SPST switches and run a sequence of off on ...off on to get the screen to work. The Pioneer, you just ground. Plus, the Pioneer has a TV tuner and touch screen. It really is a neat system, has driver's view Navigation that the screen looks like a video game and shows the upcoming roads...neat!

8 hour snowmobile trailer rides will be much more bearable now!

thanks again
