Any of you guys know if the front diff of my K2500HD will handle an E-locker? As I've said before, I take my truck off road quite a bit and the extra traction would be nice. Thanks.
:D :D :D , can it handle it, look at Michael Tomac's truck(E-locker equipt). Red CC SB D/A. Here is some useful info on the ABUSE that the HD's can take, along with some good tips. Nobody that I know pounds their truck more than Mike. :D :D tongue.gif tongue.gif From the drag strip to truck pulls........and everything in between

I asked this question a few months ago in regards to my 3500, and a couple of guys said they used the e-locker. I looked into it, but the price was little outta my reach...$600 +

I have the e-locker installed in my truck. I use it primarly for truck pulling, and works awesome.
The only time i have used it off-roading was tonight. I was climbing a steep weed hill coming out from hunting with 3inches of fresh snow on the ground. Well got about halfway with 4x4 and then spun out. Backed her down and engaged the locker and walked up the hill without a slip of the tires. Me and my buddy were in awe.
They are pricey, but worth it if your gonna use it all the time. smile.gif Later Jeremy

Thanks for the info guys.
Hey Heartbeat, I see you're from North of the border too. Where did you buy your E-locker, in Canada? If so, where? Thanks

I installed the E-locker in Tomacs truck and I must say, its a very nice setup, Just as solid as the parts in the rest of the truck. IIRC Tomac paid around 550 for the parts and figure install to be in the 3-400 range. Now, if Eaton will just come out with one for the rear.....
I got mine from http://www.reiderracing.com
I think it was under $500 including new carrier bearings.
The Elocker works great in the mud, snow & sand. I use it in the sand dunes, truckpulling and have used it dragracing a few times. It doesn't seem to mind going 100+ mph in 4wd.

Hey Tomac did having the locker engaged get you any faster times. I could see maybe 60fts but i would think its gotta hurt at the top end???? Later Jeremy
I just picked up an Eaton ELocker for my front diff today. I'll be installing it this weekend. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

My best 60' times have been without using the Elocker but the track may have been hooking better on those occasions than it has the other times I've used it. When track conditions (traction) are poor I use the Elocker to get the 60' times down. But I've seen no better 60' times using the Elocker when track conditions (traction) are good but maybe I just wasn't launching hard enough.
