I've got a 2 car hauler with a gooseneck hitch. So far I've used a dodge dually to pull it. Sometimes its not available and I would be tempted to try to use my Duramax 2500HD if it could handle it. Anybody have any experience with this ???

It'll drag the 2 car just fine. I have an '03 2500hd single rear wheel and I made a 3800 mile round trip to Bonner's Ferry, Idaho and back to Indiana pulling a 3 car hauler. GVW was 22,500 out and 29,600 (according to the DOT scales) on the return trip, hehe.

Stock Allison, Edge Juice level 2-3, Firestone bags in back, 110k on the odometer. Have to tell you though, twas a wee bit heavy on the return trip! :D

My only concern would be rear axle weight. May want to look into a Mag Hytec rear cover. I have a customer pulling a 5'er with 6k+ rear axle weight on his 2500. His only problem was losing the paint on the rear diff so he is now going to a big cover and a temp gauge.

And I thought it was just bad paint!! JK, did any of the guys running up the mountain dragging that trailer have temp gauges on their trucks. I've often thought that the rear differential would take a beating with all that horsepower you guys make, or is that why everyone uses 4 wheel drive?

I've never temp'd my rear diff, but it is a bit loud when I dothe Allison fast learn which applies and releases sharply...
