I have 92,000 miles on the OEM pads and they need to be replaced. Dealer wants $300 for a full set, ouch!!!. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Is this installed!? or just the pads?

There was a post some time ago about someone buying aftermarket pads that provided better stopping. Should be able to find it with a search. I don't think they mentioned cost.

Let us know what you end up with.

thanks,

Ken

That was me. Hawk HP SuperDuty pads sourced from TireRack.com. About $75/axle.

Occasional light noise. Slightly more dust than stock. WAY WAY better stopping and pedal feel.

Two thumbs up.

They are not even close to the dirtiest pads I've ever used (try a stock pad on a BMW or Mercedes for that).

They dust more than the stock bricks (mine had 25K miles on them with NO VISIBLE WEAR when I removed them) but a lot less than you're thinking of.

Mark,

Did you keep your stock pads? Interested in selling them?

Thanks for the opinions, still don't know which way I am going to go. The price I got for the pads from the dealer was at the parts counter, just pads, nothing else. Can't believe they want so much for just pads.

KenZ, I am following this string as I am considering replacing my stock pads to get a little added braking for when I tow my 5th wheel. I would be interested in selling my stock pads as soon as I decide which way to go, I currently have just under 11K on the truck.

See post below about Hawks eating rotors. I have no experience with them, so I can neither confirm or deny.
