Steve, do you have a picture of the bracket you needed to install the Rancho steering stabilizer on your truck? I looked at your hosting site, and from the looks of it, the "tube" end mounts to the factory clevis, and the "boot" end mounts to the bracket. I'm wondering if a person could forgo the bracket and mount the stabilizer the same as factory?

Any other options for steering stabilizers?

Matt,

IIRC I didn't see why a new one could not be mounted in the same fashion as the stock one if it was the same as stock. When I was looking at the steering stabilizers (SS), Rancho was the only option I found and it required the bracket. You have to use tie rod end separator to pop the old stock SS off. By using the bracket you don't have to worry about that anymore!

Here is a pic of the bracket installed. Note the hole the stud went through for the stock SS is just behind the end of the SS, and the 4 nuts are mounted on 2 U-bolts that hold the bracket to the steering arm.

Part Numbers....

Stabilizer RS-5407
Bracket RS-5548

The total cost last summer was around $62 (bracket $20, stabilizer $42).

I have been very pleased with it. I just wish there was a way to measure the improvement other than seat-o-the-pants! Let me know if you have anymore questions.
