I just returned from vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii and have never seen such a concentration of diesel trucks. It was probably a 3-3-1 ratio of Cummins-Powerstroke-Duramax. Diesels were everywhere.
Also, every freakin' gas station sold diesel. I suppose with regular gas at $1.98 and diesel at $2.16, the increased efficiency of the diesel pays off in the long run.
Over here on Oahu, I saw a 2500HD CC/SB with at least an 8-10" lift and 38" tires. It looked pretty professional but I was not able to get a close look.
Just an interesting note that Duramaxes are alive and well in the 50th state.
