My dealer got these in early for the Alaska State Fair. The taillights are way different on a 1500. The 3500 has the XM radio antenna which is useless in Alaska. No XM up here. We're to far north. 81 degrees today.

Just when I thought the "New Look" was growing on me and looking OK, after all it could be worse and look like an AZTEC
I see the Dually in Mav's PICS (Thanks Mav)......What were they thinking? A squared up nose to go with that bullet shaped composite rear tubs...GHESHHH!!!!!!! I took my fender so called flares off so the lines would match better, now you'd have to take the entire nose off.....I'm back to a NAH,I don't like it.....I'll see if I change my mind when I see one in person.....

Thumbs down for me. I'm with Mackin, a square front and a round a$$. It looks like the sewed two different trucks together. And what's up with the fleetside? I thought they were missing a tire on the back  One word: Nasty

Hey Nick... I love the amber and look for it in a vehicle. People know I am turning not tapping my brakes with one light out

Man, I am sure glad I got an 2002.
That's a shame. Hey it may acually make ours worth more.
Maybe a collectors, since they only made it 2 years.
We will have to wait and see.

Oneton, "Thumbs down for me. I'm with Mackin, a square front and a round a$$. It looks like the sewed two different trucks together. And what's up with the fleetside? I thought they were missing a tire on the back One word: Nasty"

The "fleetside" you see is equipped with Quadrasteer and is not a true fleetside. The turning of the rear wheels require the slightly flared fenders and running lights due to the width. That is the same look from the GMC Sierra Denali.

Also, I believe the rear tracks 6"-8" wider than the front on the Quadrasteer.

With the Quadrasteer option on a 2500HD CC LB LT D/A...you are a looking a window sticker of $50K!!! :( That is before any mods!!!

Gotcha TxDoc, I wish GM would go back to making a 3500 in a fleetside. I was disappointed when I started looking into buying a new truck and had to settle on a dually, just for payload rating, with everything else being equal on the trucks.

Well, I learned something new. I didn't know about a 3500 (or a one ton) that wasn't a dually. Did it have more leaf springs and different tires? How long ago was that?
Thanks

TxDoc,

A one ton 3500 single wheel as we used to know it is basically what we now know as a 2500HD.

Okay, maybe my eyes are damaged from looking at the new front clip, but is that 1500HD an 8 foot bed? I thought the 1500HD was only available in crew-cab short-bed?

Maybe the wider fender just makes it look longer .....

99 was the last year for the 1 ton fleetside Txdoc. I'm sure the rating is the same as the old 1 tons as on the 2500 HD but it's just not the same. Sentimental BS I guess.

I appreciate the info. I am one step closer to being ready for beginner's truck trivia.

I hope you were courteous when you took those pictures and didn't vomit directly on the truck. That would have been appropriate, but probably considered rude by the sales manager. Remember, he's envisioning all his customers running out of the showroom screaming, so he already feels bad enough! :D :D

I thought that maybe the '03s would look better in person. Well I saw one over the weekend at the dealer and all I can say is   Why did they mess with a good thing?? I'm gald I bought when I did! The radio and climate control are nice upgades.

JimWilson,

I did hold the vomit down till I drove by the used vehicle row and relieved myself in the back of a F350.
