I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 3500 4x4 Crew Cab dually with a Duramax that is stock in all respects. I have purchased a 2003 Lance 1161 camper that weighs 3900LBS. I presently have 60LBS in all the tires. What should the proper tire pressure be, considering the heavy camper that I am hauling?

I have Michelin 235's on my dually and I pull a 12000 lb horse trailer. my tires are at 80 psi cold, as it says on the tires. When I take it to the dealership for a tire rotation, they kepp them at the same psi. hope this helps

You can always estimate your weight, 3900 + 7000lbs plus whatever you put in the truck and camper, divide by 4 and check the load rating on your tires to see if you're over loaded. You can get the max rating by inflating to max pressure, but they ride could be harsh if you're not close to the max rating.
The American Tire and Rim Manufacturers Association has published a table for weights vs, pressures for different tire sizes. If you can find a copy you will be able to air your tires for best ride and still be safe.

Turbo TA, I have a camper a little heavier than yours (4500lbs empty), in my last pickup I ran 75lbs of air in the front and 65lbs in the rears. I was running Michelins LTX's. I replaced my rears at 65,000 miles and my fronts at 75,000. Not bad wear mileage in my opinion, that was on a truck with 400+ rear wheel hp as well. When I aired the rears up to 80lbs, all it did was ride rougher. Even with that big camper, your still quite a ways away from the max load on the tires. I grossed out at 4,500lb front and 7,500 rear with my camper, the rear tires can handle over 10k alone, so no reason for maximum air pressure.

Turbo-TA,

ccds, posted the web address of a web site that will give you the tire load limits, at various cold inflation pressures: Go to www.dickmantires.com and then click on Toyo inflation tables.
