clunk gone

I went to local service dept to get the super grease for drivline clunk that Michael had mentioned and they said that I had to order a dozen of them @ $36.79. So, I went to auto parts and got a can of high end marine grease (it had the same color and texture) I followed directions on thread for repair and the clunk is gone. What a relief!!!!! The only question that comes up is am I contaminating the transfer case where the yoke slips into with this grease and when I have to do this again how can I get existing grease out of transfer case area?

Check the compatibility issues with the grease. If it is compatible with the type of ATF you have in the transfer case, then no problem, do nothing. The amount of grease that will get in is negligible. If it is not, then really ugly things could happen.
