To All,

I looked down at my feet today when getting out of my 2004.5 LLY D/A CC 4x4 and noticed a part sitting there on the floor mat.

It appears to be some sort of clip or retainer of some sort. The kind of thing that might hold a wire harness or group of wires perhaps.

See pictures here (cars keys included for perspective):

The part has this written into the plastic:

CAV 8 G-1708
836692 P.P.

I hate to have parts falling off my (smile) truck and simply want to know where this goes so I can put it back into place. I figure it came from either under the dash or the drivers seat -- but I dont see an obviously spot at first glance.

Many thanks,

Mark Monroe

It is the seat rail end plug--When I checked the seat rails on my 05 Chev truck -left side has one- right is missing!!! Should I have both sides???

CAV 8 G-1708
836692 P.P.CAV 8 = Cavity #8 from the injection molding tool
G-1708 sounds like some sort of supplier part #
836692 sounds like a partial GM part #
PP = Polypropylene, the plastic used to make it

It ended up being the seat rail plug. I wouldn't have ever figured it out without the replies. From looking at it I would have sworn that it came from some place under the dash.

Thanks to All!!
