No power steering no power brakes upon startup

Started truck no power assist for the brakes or steering.
Checked belt, OK stopped engine checked power steering fluid level when loosening the cap made a hissing noise fluid level at low mark but was cold. Restarted everything worked fine.
Later added appx. 2 oz. fluid so reservoir is full when hot.
Has worked fine several days.
32500 mi.
Any suggestions befor it is out of warrenty?
Dealer said see if it does it again then they will look at it.

Hydraulic systems don't work well with air in them. Perhaps the fluid level got low enough to let in a slug of air. The $64,000 question is, where did the fluid go? It doesn't seem 2 oz. of fluid would be enough loss to cause cavitation. Check around the hydroboost unit for leaks or seepage. If there is any grime build up on it, you have a leak of some sort. The hose crimps are also suspect.

If you still have warranty, have the dealer look at it.
